Whether you have just had a PRP facial, skin needling session, or a combination treatment like the Vampire Facial, what you do in the days following can make a big difference to your results. These treatments work by triggering your skin’s natural healing process — so supporting that process at home is key to getting the best possible outcome.
Here are some simple but important tips for caring for your skin after your treatment.
Keep Your Skin Calm and Protected
After any needling or PRP-based treatment, your skin may feel warm, tight or a little sensitive. This is completely normal and part of the repair process.
In the first 24 to 48 hours:
- Avoid touching your face unnecessarily
- Do not apply makeup or heavy skincare
- Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser
- Avoid any active ingredients like retinol, AHAs or BHAs
Stick to cool water, gentle cleansers and simple hydration. Think of this time as healing, not treating.
Say Yes to Sunscreen, No to Sun Exposure
Your skin will be more sensitive to UV after these treatments, even if it doesn’t look irritated. To protect your results:
- Wear a broad-spectrum SPF 50 every day
- Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7 to 10 days
- Skip saunas, steam rooms and hot yoga during this time
Sun protection is always important, but especially after regenerative treatments that encourage new cell growth.
Support the Healing Process From Within
Your skin heals best when your body is supported too. Post-treatment recovery can benefit from:
- Staying hydrated (aim for 2L of water per day)
- Eating nutrient-rich foods with zinc, vitamin C and antioxidants
- Getting enough rest and sleep
- Avoiding alcohol and smoking in the first few days
What’s happening on the inside matters just as much as your surface skincare routine.
Be Patient and Consistent
It’s normal for skin to look a little flushed or feel textured for a few days after needling or PRP. This is part of the regeneration cycle. Most people start to see visible improvement in skin texture and tone within 1 to 3 weeks, with continued results after multiple sessions.
If you are having a course of treatments, following your provider’s schedule and aftercare plan is the best way to build long-term results.
