Medication and Health Considerations: To help reduce the risk of bruising, refrain from blood-thinning medications like aspirin, ibuprofen, and fish oil for one week before your appointment. Additionally, please inform your clinician if you have an autoimmune disorder, regularly take anti-coagulation therapy (e.g., Warfarin), or have a severe metabolic or systemic disorder.

Registration and Consent: Expect to receive a registration and consent form via text message. Please complete these forms before your appointment to expedite the process upon your arrival.

Makeup-Free Arrival: For optimal results, we recommend arriving at your appointment makeup-free. If you do have makeup on, we will need to remove it from the areas we’ll be treating.

Appointment Duration: Your appointment will typically last between 30 to 45 minutes. The treatment itself usually takes around 10-15 minutes, but this may vary depending on the areas being treated.

Treatment Process: The treatment involves the precise injection of a gel-like hyaluronic acid substance into the targeted areas using small needles or cannulas. Various techniques are employed to ensure the product is distributed smoothly and uniformly. Discussion of risks, complications and side effects: Your nurse will discuss all risks and contraindications prior to performing any procedure. While there are minimal side effects associated such as local swelling, redness, bruising, and discomfort, rare complications may include allergic reactions, granulomas or nodules, vascular damage, and very rarely, blindness. Volumising treatments cannot be given to individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, currently unwell with any infection, have taken acne medication in the last 3 months, or have a history of autoimmune diseases or multiple allergies.

Post-Treatment Care:

After your treatment, it’s essential to follow proper aftercare to ensure optimal results and minimise any potential side effects. Here are some general precautions to observe:

Apply Ice/Cool Compress: To alleviate discomfort, swelling, and bruising, gently apply an ice pack or cool compress to the treated area.

Avoid Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup to the treated area for at least 4 hours following your treatment. This allows the skin to recover and reduces the risk of irritation and infection.

Avoid Certain Activities: Avoid lying down immediately after your treatment and refrain from engaging in strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours. These activities can increase swelling and disrupt the treatment area.

Delay Facial Treatments: Postpone any facial treatments such as laser procedures or chemical peels for at least 2 weeks following your treatment. This gives your skin time to heal and reduces the risk of irritation or complications.

Avoid Touching Your Face: Resist the urge to touch or apply pressure to the treated area. This helps prevent displacement of the product and ensures optimal results.

When will I see results?

The effect is immediate, but some clients will notice increased swelling for 24 to 48hours, because of this the true result may not often be noticeable until then. It may take up to 3 to 4 weeks for the product to stabilise and fully settle into the skin.
