Preparation and Aftercare for Cosmetic Injections

TFP Clinic 114 1 1

We often get asked by our clients what they should and should not do before and after their injectable treatments, so we have compiled an extensive list here for your reference:

What should I do before my injectable treatment?

  • In the week leading up to the appointment avoid taking blood thinning medications or supplements such as aspirin, NSAIDs and fish oil, where possible. This will help to decrease your risk of bleeding, bruising and swelling following injections
  • Avoid drinking excessive alcohol the day/night before your appointment.
  • If you are planning to have dermal filler, please be aware that there will need to be a 2 week wait between Covid Vaccination and filler.
  • If you are prone to cold sores and intend to have lip injections, you should take a prophylactic anit-viral medication such as famvir to prevent a cold sore forming. This can be taken on the day of treatment, either before or after.

The day of your injectable treatment:

  • Attend your appointment with little to makeup on your face. We will remove any remaining makeup when you arrive to your appointment. This is highly important as it allows us to properly assess your face. as well as decreasing the risk of infection at injection sites.
