Zoey co-founded That Face Place in 2020 alongside fellow Registered Nurse and long-time colleague Kate Gonzalez, a clinic built around the values both nurses developed working together in cosmetic practice: evidence-based treatment planning, genuine patient education, and an absolute refusal to recommend treatments that aren’t clinically warranted. Zoey and Kate first met in 2014 while both working as cosmetic nurses at Laser Clinics Australia. After moving to the Gold Coast separately, they reconnected through an advanced injectable training session, and quickly realised they had arrived at cosmetic nursing from very different paths, but with remarkably aligned values about what good clinical care actually looks like.
They worked together at LCA Robina and LCA Pacific Fair for approximately three years, building mutual respect for each other's work ethic and clinical style. In 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zoey was also working as a Registered Nurse in the Public Health team at Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, they made the decision to found That Face Place together: a clinic that would operate the way both nurses had always believed a cosmetic clinic should.
Zoey believes the best cosmetic outcomes begin long before any treatment is performed, they begin with a thorough consultation, an honest assessment, and a clear understanding of what a patient actually wants to achieve. She will always tell clients if she doesn’t believe a treatment is appropriate for them. She will not upsell. She will not recommend a procedure that doesn’t serve the patient’s individual goals.
Every treatment plan Zoey develops considers facial anatomy, skin quality, ageing patterns, lifestyle, medical history, and each patient’s individual goals. She is particularly focused on supporting women through peri-menopause, a period in which changes in skin laxity, volume loss, and textural changes are real, and where evidence-based treatment can produce results that genuinely reflect how a patient wants to look and feel. Patient education is central to every appointment.
Before returning to clinical nursing, Zoey built an international career in business, one that reflects the same ambition, precision, and client focus that defines her clinical practice today. After graduating from UTS in 2005 and completing her RN internship at Mater Hospital Sydney, Zoey spent several years living and working internationally: as a Relocation Account Manager with Knight Frank in Shanghai (2006-2007), and then as a Recruitment Consultant with Michael Page International in Hong Kong (2007-2011), specialising in the commercial property development sector.
She returned to Australia in 2011, working as a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Profusion Group in Sydney, specialising in the finance and professional services sector, before making a deliberate decision to return fully to clinical nursing and pursue her passion for aesthetic medicine. It is this combination, a business mind shaped by years of high-performance commercial environments, and a nursing career anchored in genuine clinical rigour, that defines the way Zoey has built and run That Face Place.
Zoey completed her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), graduating in 2005. She began her nursing career at Mater Hospital Sydney as an RN intern, building a strong foundation in patient assessment, procedural safety, post-operative care, and the practical demands of acute clinical nursing.
Following her years working internationally in Hong Kong and Shanghai, Zoey returned to clinical nursing in Australia, completing the Return to Acute Nursing Program at Sydney Adventist Hospital (The SAN) in 2013, before transitioning into cosmetic medicine the following year.
Zoey entered cosmetic medicine in 2014, completing the Laser Clinics Australia Cosmetic Injectables Training Program at the company's St Leonards Training Academy in Sydney. The structured, supervised program gave her the clinical foundation for both anti-wrinkle and dermal filler treatments, combined with LCA's systematic approach to patient assessment and injectable technique.
During her time with LCA, across clinics in Sydney, South Sydney, and the Gold Coast, Zoey developed a substantial patient base and was recognised as one of the company's top-performing cosmetic nurses in Queensland. She was selected as the Queensland representative at the national Belkyra Conference in Sydney in May 2017, and delivered peer-to-peer injectable training to other LCA nurses in 2019. She practised with LCA across multiple locations from 2014 to 2020, accumulating extensive clinical volume and developing the depth of injectable experience that underpins her practice today.
In April 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Zoey also took on a Registered Nurse role within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service Public Health team, a commitment to the public health response that reflected the broader nursing values she has carried throughout her career.
